The casket of Steve McNair is brought in at the start of his funeral service in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Saturday.Thousands turned out in Tennessee to say goodbye to Steve McNair, and people in his native state were doing the same Saturday to give the ex-NFL quarterback one of the biggest funerals in recent Mississippi history.

About 1,000 people braved warm temperatures and high humidity to attend a public visitation at the Reeves Funeral Home for former NFL star and native Steve McNair on Friday in Mount Olive, Miss.Tennessee and the city of Nashville have remembered the life of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair. Now his home state of Mississippi is honoring him with his funeral and burial.
